Global Feeder Shipping (GFS) and SeaLead have launched a new Spain Turkiye Morocco (STM) service connecting Ambarli, Gebze, Aliaga, Barcelona, Valencia, Algeciras, Casablanca, Tanger, Valencia, Barcelona, Ambarli. The service will turn in 3 weeks and deploys 3 ships of 1,100 to 1,400 teu starting with the 1,440 teu GFS SAPPHIRE at Ambarli on 20 September 2024, followed by the 1,440 teu CAPE FULMAR and 1,134 teu SSF LILY. Arkas and Turkon have jointly launched a new Red Sea 1 (RS1)/Turkiye Red Sea Express (TRE) service connecting Ambarli, Izmit, Aliaga, Jeddah, Aqaba, Ambarli from 15 June 2024. The RS1/TRE will operate weekly, turning in 14 days and deploys the 1,878 teu TURKON ISTANBUL from Turkon and 1,604 teu WANDA A from Arkas.
Sidra Line has launched a new Turkey Red Sea (TRS) service from 10 February 2024 connecting Izmit, Ambarli, Iskenderun, Sokhna, Jeddah, Aden, Jeddah, Izmit. The service turns in 23 days and will deploy the 1,471 teu SIDRA AHLAM.
Zim has withdrawn its Zim Med ISC (ZMI) service from September 2023, with the last sailing departing from Haifa on 2 September 2023. The ZMI service called at Haifa, Aliaga, Valencia, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Ashdod, Limassol,Haifa,Colombo,Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Haifa turning in 5 weeks with 5 ships of 3,500-6,800 teu operated independently by Zim. Zim will replace the ZMI with slots on 3 MSC services covering 3 separate corridors that were previously served by the ZMI:
Two new entrants to the liner trades CStar Line and Uniglobal Shipping have jointly launched a new China-Turkey service aimed at the Russian market. The service calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Ambarli, Shanghai, Qingdao using 4 ships of 1,700-2,700 teu that will provide sailings on alternate weeks. The first sailing started from 26 July 2023 with the 1,714 teu BOX ENDEAVOUR that is operated by CStar Line and followed on 9 Aug 2023 by the 1,930 teu CUL LAEMCHABANG operated by Uniglo
Medkon Lines have upgraded its new Bulgaria-Romania (BRO) Shuttle service that connects Ambarli, Gebze, Varna, Constanta, Ambarli with larger tonnage introduced in July 2023. The BRO service was introduced in 24 May 2023 with the 353 teu MEDKON KRM, which has been replaced on 13 July 2023 by the 652 teu MEDKON GEMLIK to provide higher capacity to serve the Bulgaria and Romania markets.
Medkon Lines have upgraded its Turkey-Spain-Tunisia-Italy (TST) service with the addition of a second ship in a partnership with Admiral Container Lines. The Medkon TST service was launched on 14 April 2023 and calls at Ambarli, Gebze, Gemlik, Aliaga, Valencia, Barcelona, Rades, Taranto, Ambarli with the 704 teu MEDKON MERSIN. It will be complemented Admiral's 340 teu GRETA that has switched a new rotation from 26 June 2023 to call at Ambarli, Gebze, Gemlik, Aliaga, Valencia, Barcelona, Sfax
CMA CGM will launch a new Turkey-Algeria TURAF Express service connecting Aliaga, Gemlik, Izmit, Ambarli, Malta, Alger, Aliaga from 17 July 2023 using 3 ships of 800-1,000 teu. The first voyage will be made by the 868 teu ATLANTIC GREEN with 2 additional ships that are yet to be named.
Akkon Lines will introduce a new Turkiye Oran Service (TOS) calling at Ambarli, Gebze, Gemlik, Aliaga, Oran, Ambarli from 1 July 2023 using the 658 teu DEPE.
Sidra Line will introduce a new Turkey-Egypt Express Service (EXS) connecting Izmit, Ambarli, Aliaga, Alexandria, Izmit from 7 July 2023 with the 707 teu FATMA. The service will provide connections between Turkey and Eqypt with a 4-5 day transit time, with sailings every 10 days. It will also connect at Izmit and Ambarli to Sidra's Libya Express (LYX) and Novorossiysk Express (NVX) to provide relay connections between Egypt with Libya and Russia respectively.
