Hede Shipping to launch transpacific service

Hede Shipping will launch a new transpacific service from 20 March 2023 with the first sailing connecting Shanghai to Los Angeles using the 3,426 teu BFAD ATLANTIC. At Los Angeles, the service is scheduled to call at West Basin Container Terminal (WBCT) on 3 April. The Hede Direct Service (HDS) is expected to operate on a weekly basis on a 4 week roundtrip using 4 ships of 3,000-4,200 teu with an advertised transit time of 13 days from Shanghai to Los Angeles. Matson rebrands CLX+ as the Matson Asia Express (MAX)

Matson has changed the name of its China-Long Beach Express Plus (CLX+) service to the Matson Asia Express (MAX) from 18 February 2024. A 6th ship will be added to the service with a new call at Dutch Harbor added from 10 March 2024. The revised MAX rotation will call at Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Dutch Harbor, Ningbo using 6 ships of 2.800-4,250 teu. The service will retain an 11 day transit time from Shanghai to Long Beach.

ONE joins Wan Hai on revised Asia America III/Asia Pacific 1 (AA3/AP1) transpacific service

ONE will add 2 ships to Wan Hai's existing Asia America III (AA3) service from April and brand the service as the Asia Pacific 1 (AP1). The revised AA3/AP1 service will call at Haiphong, Cai Mep, Shekou, Xiamen, Taipei, Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Shekou, Haiphong from 8 May 2024, turning in 7 weeks using 7 ships of 7,000-14,000 teu with 5 ships operated by Wan Hai and 2 ships by ONE. The service is currently operated independently by Wan Hai using 5 ships of 3,000-13,000 teu with

Maersk launch new TPX service

Maersk has revised the rotation of the Transpacific Express (TPX) from January 2024 with the New TPX (NTPX) service calling at Qingdao, Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Yokohama, Qingdao. The NTPX will turn in 6 weeks and will deploy 6 ships of 1,700-5,000 teu with the first sailing by the 1,774 teu OSLO TRADER departing from Qingdao on 11 January 2024. It replaces the former TPX service that called at Haiphong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Seattle, Long Beach, Yokohama, Xiamen, Haiphong.

ZIM PNW X-Press (ZPX) launched

Zim has launched a new ZIM PNW X-Press (ZPX) service that connects Cai Mep, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Vancouver, Busan, Cai Mep starting from 21 January 2024. The new ZPX service will turn in 7 weeks and will initially deploy 5 ships of 2,800-4,200 teu starting with the 2,824 teu GSL VALERIE, 4,253 teu SYNERGY OAKLAND, 3,534 teu BACH and 2 additional ships that have not yet been named. It will operate with 2 blank sailings in each cycle, starting with blanks on 11 February

CMA CGM launch NAMEX service connecting North America East Coast with Morocco

CMA CGM will launch a new North America-Morocco Express (NAMEX) service connecting Tanger Med, Halifax, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Tanger Med from 9 January 2024. The seasonal service is aimed at the exports of fruit and vegetables from Morocco to North America. It will be operated as part of CMA CGM's Columbus JAX (CJX) service with the addition of new calls at Tanger Med as well as Philadephia. MSC upgrades Jaguar transpacific service to 19,000 teu scale with ships redeployed from Suez routes

MSC has upgraded its FE-US West Coast Jaguar service to the 19,000 teu scale with ships that have been redeployed from the Asia-Europe routes due to their Israeli links. The Jaguar service calls at Nansha, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Busan, Nansha and used ships of 13,000 to 19,000 teu previously. Swire Projects, the specialist shipping services division of Swire Shipping, has launched a Transpacific Semi-Liner Service using 3 of its H-Class 28,500 dwt/1,553 teu mpp ships (PACIFIC HERO, PACIFIC HONOUR, PACIFIC HUMILITY) from 18 November 2023. Zim relaunch ZIM eCommerce Xpress (ZEX) service to US West Coast

Zim will relaunch the ZIM eCommerce Xpress (ZEX) service from 19 November 2023 to provide an expedited service from South China to Los Angeles. The service will see Zim's ships return to the US West Coast after it withdrew the ZEX in February 2023 and the ZNP in June 2023. THE Alliance suspends PN3 service

THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) have announced the suspension of the PN3 transpacific service that connects Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai, Busan, Vancouver, Tacoma, Busan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong from October 2023.
