The transpacific extra loader service operated by Pasha exclusively for US warehouse retailer Costco will be upgraded to a regular service later this year. The Pasha/Costco service was launched on 12 August 2021 with the 2,741 teu POSEN, followed by the 2,741 teu AS CARLOTTA on 1 September 2021 and 2,194 teu QUEEN ESTHER on 3 October 2021. Zim launches new Yangon Star service

Zim will launch a new weekly Yangon Star (YGS) service that will connect Nansha, Port Klang, Yangon, Port Klang, Nansha using three ships of 1,100 teu. The first sailing is scheduled on 26 February from Nansha with the 1,134 teu ASIATIC KING. The service will allow connections to and from Yangon with transhipment at Nansha and Port Klang.

MSC adds SE Asia-Australia extra loaders

MSC has launched 2 adhoc services linking linking Australia to Southeast Asia hub ports to cater to cargo overflows since December. The KANGAROO service links Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas to Melbourne, Sydney and BRISBANE on irregular rotations using ships of 1,100 to 5,000 teu. Zim has added a third ship on the trans-Tasmanian service that will provide relay connections between Melbourne and Sydney to various ports in New Zealand. X-Press Feeders launch Germany Sweden X-Press (GSX)

X-Press Feeders have launched a new Germany Sweden X-Press (GSX) service on 18 January 2022 with the 509 teu ANNA G. The service calls at Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Sodertalje, Ahus, Bremerhaven on a weekly basis. Apart from regular feeder volumes to and from Sweden, the service will also cater for cross positioning of empty containers from Sodertalje to Ahus.

Kaiso Line pioneers direct Indonesia-India/Middle East link

The newly established Indonesian carrier Kaiso Line has launched a direct Indonesia to the Indian subcontinent and Middle East with the launch of its new Kaiso Persian Gulf (KPG) service.  The service was first launched on 25 November 2021 with the 724 teu ATLANTIC PIONEER. The KPG service calls at Jakarta, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Mundra, Jakarta on a monthly interval. Kaiso Line says that more ships will be added to in 2022 to upgrade the service to a weekly frequency
