Sealand Starts PH9 Connecting S China and ASEAN

Sealand Asia is starting PH9 calling Xiamen, Taichung, Hong Kong, Shekou, Sihanoukville, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh City, Batangas, Manila, Yantian, Hong Kong, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Xiamen on 28-days round trip. The service will start with 1,750 teu NORDTIGER on 13 August at Cagayan de Oro.

ZIM is starting Mexico Central America Express (MXC) calling Progreso, Veracruz, Altamira, Santo Tomas De Castilla, Puerto Cortes, Kingston, Progreso. The service will start with 966 teu CONTSHIP PEP on 10 October at Progreso. The service seems to go on fortnightly basis.

Sinokor starts Shanghai Russia Service

Sinokor is starting Shanghai Russia Service (SRS) calling Busan, Kwangyang, Shanghai, Busan, Vladivostok, Busan. The service will start with 1,003 teu HEUNG-A XIAMEN on 20 August at Busan. Another ship, 1083 teu HE SHENG, will join at Shanghai on 31 August, after being out of drydock.

Summit Shipping Line introduces new China Manila Express

Summit Shipping Line, a new container shipping company formed by the Xiamen Port Group and based in Singapore, has launched the China Manila Express (CMX) service using the 724 teu ATLANTIC BRIDGE from 29 July 2022. The CMX calls at Shanghai, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Manila with sailings every 12 days. Summit Shipping has chartered the ATLANTIC BRIDGE from Sinokor related interests for 5-6 months at a daily rate of $29,000.

Mothballed containership reactivated after 10 year lay up

Van Son Shipping, a newly established Vietnamese carrier based in Hanoi, has launched a domestic service connecting Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City with the 1,730 teu NEW VISION on 30 July 2022. The NEW VISION has been laid up in Vietnam since delivery in June 2012 and the ship holds the record for having spent the longest period in lay up by any containership. ESL starting JBS

Emirates Shipping Lines is starting a new Jebel Ali Bahrain Shuwaikh Service (JBS) calling at Jebel Ali, Bahrain, Shuwaikh, Jebel Ali. The service started with 1,678 teu ESL VICTORIA at Jebel Ali on 18 August 2022. Another vessel, 1,341 teu ESL ZANZIBAR, will be deployed to JBS as from 23 August 2022 at Jebel Ali to this service on weekly frequency.

VASI Shipping started new Singapore-Laem Chabang Shuttle

VASI shipping started a new Singapore-Laem Chabang shuttle. The weekly service has started with 1756 teu NORDPANTHER at Singapore on 7 July 2022. It is the forth similar Singapore-Laem Chabang shuttle after similar shuttle ran by CNC, MSC and X-Press. CMA CGM is taking slots on this shuttle as from July 21.

Tailwind launch China-Rotterdam service

Tailwind Shipping, the shipping company established by German retailer Lidl, has launched a new China-North Europe container service to cater for its own cargo requirements. Tailwind has deployed the 4,957 teu WIKING that departed from Taicang on 17 July 2022 and will call at Ningbo and Dachan Bay en route to Rotterdam. The launch was delayed by some 2 months, as Tailwind had chartered out 3 more ships of 3,800-5,500 teu that were to be deployed on this service. This includes the 5,527 teu TALA

Transcontainer introduce Russia-India and Russia-China services

Transcontainer has launched regular shipping services at both its Black Sea and Russia Far East hubs of Novorossiysk and Vostochny to provide multimodal container connections across its rail network in Russia. The latest service connects Novorossiysk, Haydarpasa, Istanbul, Mersin and Nhava Sheva with the 417 teu LDR SAKINE. The services was launched on 25 June 2022. Transcontainer had earlier launched a Taicang/Ningbo-Vostochny service on 4 April 2022 using the 1,113 teu OCEAN GRACE.

Arctic Container Line launched

Arctic Container Line was established in March 2022 as a subsidiary of the Myklebusthaug Group of Norway to operate container feeder services between Europe and Scandinavia. It launched its first service on 13 June 2022 connecting Rotterdam with Tananger, Bergen, Alesund and Floro in Norway using the 657 teu RUMBA that is owned by Myklebusthaug. The Myklebusthaug Group currently owns 6 containerships of 657 teu to 868 teu. 5 of its other ships are currently chartered out to Unifeeder (1 ship),
