Wan Hai has revised the rotation of its Asia America IV (AA5) transpacific service with the call at Taipei dropped while a new call at Seattle is added. The revised rotation started from November 2022 and calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Long Beach, Seattle, Qingdao. The service will turn in 6 weeks but it being downgraded with just 2 ships of 3,013 teu deployed in January and February 2023, with 4 blanked sailings on each 6 week cycle.
CMA CGM has revised the rotation of its Eagle Express X (EXX) service from October 2022, with the addition of a new call at Yantian while dropping the Honolulu westbound call. The revised rotation calls at Busan, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Dutch Harbor, Busan and now turns in 7 weeks using 7 ships of 5,095-6,350 teu.
Doornekamp Lines is continuing to operate its China-Vancouver transpacific loader service using the owned 1,118 teu VALENCIA ELIZABETH D despite the sharp drop in freight rates on the route. Doornekamp Lines have been operating the ship on the transpacific route since 29 March 2022 when it was named SONGA LYNX and had taken ownership of the ship on 26 July 2022 from Songa and renamed it VALENCIA ELIZABETH D. Saigon Newport (SNP) and Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VMC) has launched a new joint service that connects Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Haiphong. The domestic service started from 24 December 2022 with the 420 teu TAN CANG FOUNDATION at Haiphong and arrived at Can Tho on 29 December 2022. Hapag-Lloyd will continue to operate its dedicated China Germany Express (CGX) service using panamax ships of 4,000-5,000 teu but the sailing frequencies will be reduced with only 4 sailings to be offered in January and February 2023. CMA CGM is launching another shuttle connecting Guyana and Trinidad. The new shuttle will deploy a single ship 167 teu CEDRIC K calling Georgetown and Port of Spain. CEDRIC K, currently deployed in St Martin & other islands service (Leeward 2), is phasing in on 4 Jan at Port of Spain.
Zim has withdrawn its North China Australia Express (C3A) service from December 2022. The last sailing was made by the 1,717 teu OPHELIA that ended its rotation at Brisbane on 23 December 2022. The service was first launched at the end of February 2022 and called at Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Xingang. The service turned in 6 weeks using ships of 1,7000=2,700 teu.
