THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) will withdraw the EC4 service from November 2023. The EC4 is 1 of the 5 FE-US East Coast services that THE Alliance currently operates. The last sailing will be made by the 14,078 teu YM WIND from Hong Kong on 6 November 2023. Zim will launch a new ZIM Gulf Toucan (ZGT) connecting Argentina and Brazil with Mexico and the US Gulf coast. 6 carriers to launch new China-East Africa service

ESL, GFS, IAL, KMTC, RCL and TSL will jointly launch a new China-East Africa service starting from November 2023. The service will call at Qingao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Port Klang, Qingdao on a 56 day rotation using up to 8 ships of 2,400-3,000 teu. The service will be branded as the RCL East Africa (REA) service by RCL while the other partners to the service have not yet announced their assigned service names.

Transmasters emerge as new operator of Wan Hai 260 ships

Russian container carrier Transmasters have taken control of 3 former Wan Hai ships of 1,662 teu for its China-Russia service. The 3 ships - WAN HAI 261, WAN HAI 262, WAN HAI 263 - were originally to be sold for scrap but they have been retaken by Chinese owners and renamed as HONRISE, NEW EVERPROSPER and STAR BRIGHT respectively. X-Press Feeders have introduced a new Mediterranean X-Press (MEDX) service that connects Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Karachi, Jeddah, Damietta, Piraeus, Genoa, Valencia, Barcelona, Piraeus, Damietta, Jeddah, Karachi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva starting from 29 September 2023. The MEDX service is offered through slots on the India-Med leg of HMM's Far East-India-Med (FIM) service that operates on a fortnightly basis using 6 ships of 6,700-8,500 teu.
