ONE and Hai An will launch a new jointly operated Vietnam Singapore Express (VSX) service from 4 January 2024 calling at Haiphong, Cai Mep, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong. The weekly service will turn in 2 weeks using the 1,577 teu HAIAN VIEW and 1,708 teu HAIAN ROSE, with each partner to operate one ship each with ONE to charter the HAIAN VIEW from Hai An for the service.

COSCO and OOCL will join CNC, the intra-Asia arm of CMA CGM, in a new intra-Asia partnership involving 2 existing services operated by CNC that will both be upgraded to the 6,000-7,000 teu scale. The first service involves the existing CNC Korea China Straits Service (KCS) that calls at Xingang, Dalian, Lianyungang, Qingdao, Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Manila, Xingang. Samudera will be a vessel operating partner with ONE on the Southeast Asia to India and Gulf/Straits India Gulf (SIG) service that was launched on 16 November 2023. The SIG service calls at Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo, Singapore using 4 ships of 2,500-2,800 teu on a 28 day rotation, of which Samudera will contribute the 2,824 teu MONACO, that will operate alongside 3 ships operated by ONE (2,542 teu SAFEEN PRISM, 2,664 teu NYK ISABEL and 2,824 teu MONACO).

Ellerman will purchase 300 teu per week on MSC's Scan Baltic to USA service on a roundtrip basis starting from 6 January 2024. The service calls at Klaipeda, Gdynia, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Klaipeda. Ellerman will have a maximum allocation of 120 teu per week from Scandinavian ports to USA. The slot arrangement on MSC will replace Ellerman's USA Express (USX) service that calls at Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Tilbury

COSCO and OOCL will expand their service network between Philippines and Japan from 8 January with the launch of the new KTX4 service that will call at Manila (North & South), Hong Kong, Shekou, Osaka, Kobe, Tokyo, Yokohama, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Manila. THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) will divert a total of 17 Panama transits to the Suez on 3 of its FE-USEC services from December 2023. The diversions will affect 3 northbound and 5 southbound sailings on the EC1, 3 northbound and 4 southbound sailings on the EC2 and 1 sailing in each direction on the EC6 over December 2023 and January 2024, with further extensions dependent on the Panama drought conditions. Swire Projects, the specialist shipping services division of Swire Shipping, has launched a Transpacific Semi-Liner Service using 3 of its H-Class 28,500 dwt/1,553 teu mpp ships (PACIFIC HERO, PACIFIC HONOUR, PACIFIC HUMILITY) from 18 November 2023. The service will call on an irregular basis at Qingdao, Taicang, Everett, Vancouver, Qingdao with inducement calls at additional ports in Southeast Asia, US West Coast and Mexico with sailings every 2-4 weeks. CMA CGM and COSCO have launched a new Asia Subcontinent Express 2 (AS2) service that connects Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Singapore, Shanghai from 16 November 2023. The AS2 will turn in 5 weeks using 5 ships of 4,200-6,300 teu, of which 4 ships are operated by CMA CGM (4,253 teu DERBY, 5,466 teu CMA CGM LEKKI, 6,350 teu APL MINNESOTA and TBN vessel)and 1 ship is from COSCO (5,085 teu COSCO NEW YORK).

SeaLead has launched a new Mediterranean-South America (MEDSA) service from 12 November 2023 that connects Casablanca, Itapoa, Paranagua, Santos, Casablanca. The first sailing was made by the 1,723 teu GREEN HOPE that departed from Casablanca on 13 November and arrived in Santos on 29 November. The service will turn in 5 weeks and will initially operate on a monthly frequency with only 1 ship with more ships to be added subsequently. Relay connections will be offered at Casablanca to Barcelona

Maersk has launched a new intra-Asia SE8 service connecting Jakarta, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Klang, Haiphong, Qinzhou, Port Klang, Singapore, Jakarta from 8 Novmber 2023. The service turns in 3 weeks and deploys ships of 1,000-1,700 teu with the maiden voyage made by the 1,714 teu BOX ENDEAVOUR at Jakarta on 8 November.
