MSC will revise the rotation of the FE-USEC Santana service from 24 August 2023 to call at Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo, Cristobal, Caucedo, New York, Norfolk, Laem Chabang. The addition of new calls at Manzanillo and Cristobal allows MSC to offload cargo before the Panama Canal transit due to draft restrictions imposed by the ACP. The revision comes just 11 weeks after the Santana rotation was last changed on 8 June 2023 to call at Haiphong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Bus
MSC has increased its exposure to the Russian market with a new China to St Petersburg relay service via Klaipeda and Antwerp. MSC has launched a new Florida Feeder service that will call Port Everglades, Caucedo, Rio Haina, Jacksonville, Freeport (Bah), Jacksonville, Port Everglades with two 2,000-2,800 teu ship. The service has started with the 2,824 teu AS CAMELLIA at Rio Haina on 7 July.
MSC has introduced a new Mersin Shuttle service that connects Beirut, Mersin, Beirut with the 1,704 teu MSC SILVER II starting from 16 July 2023.
Zim has withdrawn the Zim North Pacific (ZNP) service with the last sailing from Busan on 12 July 2023. The ZNP deployed up to 7-9 ships of 2,700-4,300 teu and called at Kaohsiung, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vancouver (BC), Busan, Kaohsiung. The removal of the ZNP will remove 1% from the FE-USWC capacity. MSC will reinstate the Asia-North Europe Swan service from June 2023. The service will call at Qingdao, Ningbo, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Antwerp, Gdynia, Gdansk, Klaipeda, King Abdullah Port, Singapore, Qingdao. The Swan service will be operated independently by MSC outside of the 2M partnership with Maersk. MSC will launch a new Far East-India West Coast service branded as Shikra in May 2023. The new service will connect Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Colombo, Port Klang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Cai Mep, Qingdao starting from 23 May 2023 with the 15,934 teu MSC MARA at Qingdao. MSC will extend the China-Australia Panda service to Busan in order to provide a direct connection between Australia and South Korea with transhipment options to Japan.
