Zim and Gold Star Line (GSL) have changed the GSL Kolkata-Chittagong Express Shuttle (GKC) service to a Port Klang-Kolkata shuttle service but has retained the GKC service name. The new GKC is jointly operated with RCL which brands the service as the RCL Malaysia-Kolkata Service (RCH8). The GKC/RCH8 service will call Port Klang (Westports), Kolkata, Port Klang and turns in 2-3 weeks with up to 3 ships of 1,000-1,200 teu deployed, with the new deployment started in September 2023.
Zim and Gold Star Line (GSL) have revised the GSL Kolkata Colombo (GKC) service with the addition of new calls at Chittagong and Kattupalli from May 2023. The revised service has been renamed Kolkata Chittagong Express Shutle (GKC) and calls at Colombo, Chittagong, Kolkata, Kattupalli, Colombo, turning in 21 days using 3 chartered ships of 1,000-1,100 teu (IMKE SCHEPERS, SINAR BANGKA, ASIATIC NEPTUNE).
Zim and Gold Star Line (GSL) are upgrading the China Australia Express (CAX) service with the addition of new southbound calls at Nansha and Yantian, while the northbound call at Haiphong will be dropped. The revised CAX rotation will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Nansha, Yantian, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Shanghai starting from 3 January 2023. Zim/Gold Star Line is adding more port calls on the China Thailand Vietnam III (CT3) that will extend the service to reach North Asia from January 2023. The CT3 was launched on 25 November 2022 and had initially called at Ningbo, Xiamen, Nangha, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Haiphong, Yantian, Nansha, Ningbo using 3 ships of 1,700-2,000 teu. Zim has withdrawn its North China Australia Express (C3A) service from December 2022. The last sailing was made by the 1,717 teu OPHELIA that ended its rotation at Brisbane on 23 December 2022. The service was first launched at the end of February 2022 and called at Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Xingang. The service turned in 6 weeks using ships of 1,7000=2,700 teu.
ZIM and its subsidiary GSL are to introduce the new Thailand Fremantle Express (TFX) that will connect Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Port Klang, Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Port Klang, Ho Chi Minh City. The TFX will turn in 6 weeks on a 42-days round trip, starting with the 2,450 teu GSL AFRICA and 1,717 teu OPHELIA that will phase in at Ho Chi Minh City on Dec 26 2022 and Jan 2 2023 respectively. Zim/Gold Star Line (GSL) has launched a new China Thailand Vietnam III (CT3) service that connects Ningbo, Xiamen, Nangha, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Haiphong, Yantian, Nansha, Ningbo from 25 November 2022. The CT3 turns in 3 weeks using 3 Bangkokmax ships, the 1,762 teu MTT SANDAKAN and two 1,984 teu newbuildings MARLA TIGER and MARLA BULL that have just been chartered by Zim.
Gold Star Line will launch a new Korea Express (KRX) service from 18 October 2022 calling at Taichung, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Xiamen, Busan (New Port & North Port), Incheon, Xiamen, Taichung. The GSL service will turn in 2 weeks using the 1,134 teu ZIM AUSTRALIA and the 1,049 teu ASIATIC PRIDE.
Zim/GSL will launch a new India-Africa Express (IAX) service connecting Western India with Kenya and Tanzania in East Africa from September 2022. The IAX will call at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Nhava Sheva with 3 ships of 1,100 teu. The first official sailing will be made by the 1,134 teu ASIATIC NEPTUNE at Nhava Sheva on 7 September 2022. The same ship had already made one ad hoc rotation at the same IAX ports from 9 August 2022.
