MSC relaunch Liberty service from Asia to USEC

MSC will relaunch the Asia-US East Coast Liberty service from 8 August 2024 with a revised rotation calling at Shanghai, Busan, Miami, Savannah, Charleston, Philadelphia, New York, Singapore, Shanghai. The new Liberty service will turn in 12 weeks and will deploy up to 12 ships of 4,000 to 5,000 teu. The first sailing is scheduled at Singapore on 8 August 2024 with the 4,432 teu MSC HOUSTON V. Maersk withdraws TP20 service

Maersk will withdraw the Far East-East Coast North America TP20 service with the last sailing from Shanghai on 13 June 2024. The TP20 service was re-launched on 21 April 2024 to call at Qingdao, Shanghai, Yantian, Newark, Baltimore, Houston, Qingdao. It was to turn in 12 weeks using up to 12 ships of 2,500 to 5,000 teu. However, the service will be suspended after making just 8 sailings due to the shortage of ships in the market. The removal of the service will reduce overall FE-ECNA capacity

MSC removes US East Coast calls on Santana service

MSC has removed its FE-USEC connections on the Santana service with calls at New York omitted from April 2024. The last New York call on the service was made by the 15,264 teu MSC MARTINA MARIA on 29 March 2024 with subsequent sailings on the Santana shortened to a revised Far East-Mexico-Panama-Dominican Republic service calling at Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo (Mexico), Cristobal, Colon (Coco Solo), Caucedo, Yantian. THE Alliance diverts 3 FE-USEC services from Panama to Suez

THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) will divert a total of 17 Panama transits to the Suez on 3 of its FE-USEC services from December 2023. The diversions will affect 3 northbound and 5 southbound sailings on the EC1, 3 northbound and 4 southbound sailings on the EC2 and 1 sailing in each direction on the EC6 over December 2023 and January 2024, with further extensions dependent on the Panama drought conditions. These diversions will add about 1 week to the total transit

MSC revise Santana service rotation

MSC will revise the port rotation of the Far East-US East Coast Santana service from 2 December 2023 to call at Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Manzanillo, Cristobal, Caucedo, New York, Yantian. The revised service will turn in 11 weeks on a 77 day rotation and will deploy up to 11 neo-panamax ships of 13,000-15,000 teu. The new rotation will omit previous calls at Laem Chabang, Cai Mep and Norfolk while adding a new call at Yantian.

THE Alliance updates EC1 and EC2 service rotations

THE Alliance will revise the rotations of the Far East-US East Coast EC1 and EC2 services from November 2023 following the withdrawal of the EC4 service. A new call at Xiamen will be added to the EC1 service that will call at Kaohsiung, Xiamen (new), Yantian, Shanghai, Yangshan, Ningbo, Busan, Manzanillo, New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Manzanillo, Balboa, Kaohsiung. THE Alliance to withdraw EC4 service to US East Coast

THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) will withdraw the EC4 service from November 2023. The EC4 is 1 of the 5 FE-US East Coast services that THE Alliance currently operates. The last sailing will be made by the 14,078 teu YM WIND from Hong Kong on 6 November 2023. The service calls at Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Yantian, Cai Mep, Singapore, Suez Canal, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, New York, Suez Canal, Singapore, Kaohsiung. Maersk retains Panama routing for Asia-US East Coast extra loader service

Maersk has added additional sailings between China/Korea and the US East Coast on its extra loader program for overflow cargo, retaining the routing via the Panama Canal despite ongoing draft restrictions and congestion. Maersk has deployed 8 extra sailings to the US East Coast since the beginning of July 2023 using ships of 3,000-7,000 teu, of which 6 sailings took the Panama route without encountering any significant delays, while 2 sailings were routed via the Suez Canal. * GSL ELEFTHERIA

MSC amends Santana and Chinook service port rotations

MSC will change the port rotation of 2 of its standalone transpacific services in July 2023. The FE-USEC Santana service will call at Haiphong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Busan, Manzanillo (Mex), Cristobal, Caucedo, Port Everglades, Baltimore, Lazaro Cardenas, Haiphong from 2 July 2023. Hapag-Lloyd joins Wan Hai on FE-USEC 'AA7' service

Hapag-Lloyd will join Wan Hai as a vessel operator on the new FE-US East Coast 'AA7' service that will replace the existing service that was operated solely by Wan Hai starting from 26 April 2023. The new AA7  service will deploy 12 ships of 4,500 to 13,500 teu, with 4 ships from Hapag-Lloyd and 8 ships from Wan Hai.
