SeaLead has launched a new Dubai-Kenya (DUKE) service connecting Karachi, Jebel Ali, Mombasa, Karachi from 4 November 2024. The service will turn in 2-3 weeks and will deploy 2 ships initially starting with the 1,118 teu CONTSHIP UNO and DEVON.

SeaLead introduces Asia & India-East East (ANIDEA) service

SeaLead will launch a new Asia and India-East Africa (ANIDEA) service calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Shanghai from 24 November 2024. The service will replace the existing India-Dubai-East Africa (IDEA) service, which will be extended to China and drop the connection at Dubai. The FAX/IEA/EAX/REA/FAS service, currently operated by Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), Global Feeder Shipping (GFS), Interasia Lines (IAL), KMTC, Regional Container Lines (RCL) and TS Lines (TSL) will be upgraded from October 2024 with a second loop added with Evergreen joining the group as a vessel operator. CMA CGM will launch a new Karibu Express service connecting Jebel Ali, Mombasa, Longoni, Pointe Des Galets, Mombasa, Mogadishu, Jebel Ali. New China-East Africa service starts on 6 November 2023

The new China-East Africa service jointly operated by ESL, GFS, IAL, KMTC, RCL and TSL will start from 6 November 2023  calling at Qingao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Port Klang, Qingdao on a 56 day rotation using up to 8 ships of 2,400-3,000 teu. 6 carriers to launch new China-East Africa service

ESL, GFS, IAL, KMTC, RCL and TSL will jointly launch a new China-East Africa service starting from November 2023. The service will call at Qingao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Port Klang, Qingdao on a 56 day rotation using up to 8 ships of 2,400-3,000 teu. The service will be branded as the RCL East Africa (REA) service by RCL while the other partners to the service have not yet announced their assigned service names.

MSC introduces Zambezi Express Service

MSC has launched a new Zambezi Express service that connects Port Louis and Beira using the 3,301 teu MSC ALEXA and 2,764 teu MSC PATNAREE III. The service started from 16 August 2023 and turns in 12-14 days with the 2 ships providing weekly departures from Mauritius and Mozambique.

PIL adds Zanzibar Shuttle (ZNS)

PIL will resume calls at Zanzibar in Tanzania with the launch of the new Zanzibar Shuttle (ZNS) that will call at Mombasa, Zanzibar, Mombasa starting from 16 March 2023. The ship to be deployed has not yet been named. The feeder service will tranship at Mombasa in Kenya to PIL's EAS service that connects Mombasa, Port Klang, Singapore, Nansha, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Singapore, Port Klang, Mombasa.

OOCL, SeaLead and TS Lines will launch a new India-UAE-East Africa service from 22 November 2022 aimed at the Kenya and Tanzania markets. Hapag-Lloyd/ONE/ZIM split Asia-East Africa service in new partnership with PIL

Hapag-Lloyd, ONE and ZIM will upgrade their jointly operated Asia-East Africa service (EA3/EAF/CEA) by splitting it into 2 weekly services that will serve Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam separately.
