COSCO/CUL adds China Philippines Express (CPX) service

COSCO and China United Lines (CUL) have launched a new joint service branded as the China Philippines Express (CPX). The service calls at Shanghai, Xiamen, Manila, Subic Bay, Shanghai starting from 21 Sep 2022 using the 1,432 teu JIN YUN HE and the 1,713 teu AS SERENA. The new service replaces the  China-Vietnam Express (CV5/CVX) service that was jointly operated by COSCO and CUL calling at Shanghai, Xiamen, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai.

CUL to launch 3rd Transpacific string

China United Lines (CUL) has launched the Transpacific Express III (TPN) service, its 3rd tranpacific service. The service started on 5 May with the 1,868 teu XIN MING ZHOU 106 calling at Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Nansha, Ningbo, Qingdao, Los Angeles, Oakland. A sistership, XIN MING ZHOU 108 will also join the service on 20 May at Ningbo. The port rotation of this new service is irregular but is expected to call at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Los Angeles, Oakland, Qingdao.

CUL introduces new Asia East Med (AEM) service

China United Lines (CUL) has launched a new Asia-East Mediterranean Sea Service (AEM) in March 2022. The service kicked off on 10 March 2022 with the 4,395 teu REN JIAN 16 calling at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Ashdod, Ambarli, Piraeus, Qingdao with an ad-hoc westbound call at Cai Mep also added. The service is currently running on a monthly basis, with the second sailing scheduled on 8 April 2022 with the 2,492 teu GROTON.

CUL plans Hong Kong IPO

China United Lines (CUL) have launched a bid for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Hong Kong stock exchange. It filed an initial application on 31 January 2022, with proceeds from the IPO to be used to fund new ships and further overseas expansion. CUL was established in 2005 and is currently based in Shanghai. The company is controlled by Raymond Chen Hong Hui (through interests held by his spouse) and is currently 80% owned by Chen and 20% by Guangzhou Port. It reported total revenues

CUL launch South China-HCMC link

China United Lines (CUL) has launched a new China-Vietnam link branded as the China-Vietnam Express III (CV5) using the chartered 1,113 teu OCEAN GRACE. The service connects Nansha, Shekou and Ho Chi Minh City, with the first sailing from Nansha on 20 December 2021. The service turns in around 10 days.

NBOSCO & CUL to launch new China Vietnam Thailand (CVT) service

Ningbo Ocean Shipping (NBOSCO) and China United Lines (CUL) will launch a new China Vietnam Thailand (CVT) service from 30 December 2021. The service will connect Jiaxing, Ningbo, Xiamen, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh City, Jiaxing using 3 ships of 1,800 teu. NBOSCO will provide the 1,868 teu XIN MING ZHOU 98 and XIN MING ZHOU 102 while CUL will deploy its newly chartered 1,762 teu INDURO on this new service. Port rotation of the new CVT service
