US Imports From Asia Fell in 22H2

Transpacific container volumes from Asia to the US slipped in the 2nd half of 2022 but still ended the full year with a 3% gain compared to 2021. TS Lines launch China Australia 3 (CA3)

TS Lines has launched a new China Australia 3 (CA3) service calling at Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nansha, Shekou, Port Kelang(W), Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Port Kelang(W), Laem Chabang, Nansha, Qingdao. The service started from 28 October 2022 with the 1,909 teu TS NAGOYA. It turns in 56 days using 8 ships of 1,700-2,700 teu.

Zim withdraws C3A service

Zim has withdrawn its North China Australia Express (C3A) service from December 2022. The last sailing was made by the 1,717 teu OPHELIA that ended its rotation at Brisbane on 23 December 2022. The service was first launched at the end of February 2022 and called at Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Xingang. The service turned in 6 weeks using ships of 1,7000=2,700 teu.

Zim/GSL launch new Thailand Fremantle Express (TFX)

Zim/Gold Star Line (GSL) will launch a new Thailand Fremantle Express service from January 2023. The service will call at Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Port Klang, Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Port Klang, Ho Chi Minh City using 5 to 6 ships of 1,700-2,600 teu on a 42 day rotation starting with the 2,450 teu GSL AFRICA at Laem Chabang on 4 January 2023.

ZIM and its subsidiary GSL are to  introduce the new Thailand Fremantle Express (TFX) that will connect Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Port Klang, Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Port Klang, Ho Chi Minh City. Focus Container Line : New carrier joins China-ANZ trade

Focus Container Line, a new shipping company based in Brisbane, Australia, will launch a new service linking China to New Zealand and Australia from November 2022. The new service will kick off from Ningbo on 4 November 2022 with the 1,497 teu mpp ship BBC DENMARK and followed by the 1,756 teu SAN GIORGIO on 19 November 2022. ANL/CMA CGM, COSCO and OOCL will launch a new A3 Express (A3X) service connecting Shanghai, Shekou, Brisbane and Sydney from 12 July 2022 (Launch date originally scheduled for 31 May 2022 but have been postponed).
